This standard includes:
Structural design requirements
Performance testing (drop, leakproofness, hydraulic pressure)
UN marking requirements
Mandatory 30-month periodic inspections (where applicable)
Select Hawman models are certified to:
UN31A (Metal IBCs)
UN31HA1 (Composite/Polyethylene IBCs)
CAN/ULC-S601-14 (specific fuel models)
ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems
All certifications and testing are conducted in accordance with applicable Canadian regulatory requirements.
Decades of Durability:
30-Year Hawman IBC Refurbishment
Hawman IBCs are built to last. In fact, some containers we’ve refurbished have been in service for over 30 years. Using our full IBC inspection, reconditioning, and tote recertification services, even these decades-old units can be returned to safe, fully compliant operation.
With specialized cleaning, repair, and recertification processes, we extend the life of your IBCs while ensuring they continue to meet UN and Transport Canada standards. This not only saves on replacement costs but also demonstrates the superior durability and quality engineering of Hawman containers.
Sustainable IBC Recycling
At Hawman Container Services, sustainability is an integral part of our IBC recertification process. As part of our IBC recertification process, we replace polyethylene bottles in IBCs at their five-year recertification cycle. These bottles are Canadian-sourced and made from virgin polyethylene for maximum quality.
Used polyethylene bottles are ground into fine powder and then repurposed into new industrial products, ensuring nothing goes to waste. This full-cycle process allows Hawman to deliver environmentally conscious IBC solutions while maintaining compliance, safety, and long-term durability.
